Western Paper Supports Annual Colorado Hotel and Lodging Industry Event

Western Paper Distributors, a division of Imperial Dade, was the Diamond Sponsor for the Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association (CHLA) Annual Conference and Readiness Fund Golf Tournament. This event brings members from across the state together for education and networking as well as fundraising for the Legislative Readiness Fund. More than $300,000 was raised for the fund, which is used to protect and defend Colorado hotels from harmful legislation and regulations.

Held at The Broadmoor, this year’s conference featured speakers included Tim Wolfe, Director of the Colorado Tourism office, Julie McCluskie, Colorado Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Kelly Caufield from the Common Sense Institute. Focusing on topics such as legislation, travel trends, and the economy, each speaker provided valuable information on how these topics impact the industry.

The event was capped off by an incredible keynote speaker, Jon Dorenbos. A retired NFL player and second runner-up on America’s Got Talent, Dorenbos inspired the audience with his story (and a little magic), illustrating the importance of choosing to be happy and present each day for yourself and the people around you.

Aaron Armstrong, a member of the CHLA Board of Directors and one of our sales leaders, says, "This organization has been such an honor to serve and be a part of for many years. They truly live their values and ensure the hotel and lodging industry in Colorado continues to thrive and be a wonderful place to build a career." Each presentation offered valuable information—from the tangible impacts of legislation and the economy to the personal impacts of connection and leadership.

The Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association (CHLA), a chapter of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA), has worked for almost a century in the hospitality industry in an ongoing effort to promote travel and tourism in the state of Colorado. They are actively involved in regulatory and legislative issues that may impact the industry. CHLA also provides training for member employees as well as scholarships for students in hospitality programs or who are enrolled in college while working in a hotel.
