In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Western Paper proactively partnered with the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a division of ISSA, to encourage our customers to achieve GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation.

About GBAC STAR™

GBAC STAR is the gold standard of prepared facilities.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to threaten the general public, necessitating ongoing service restrictions and the implementation of strict measures to contain the virus, facility operators across the country are looking for guidance on how to go about, safely and lawfully, re-opening their shuttered doors. For large commercial buildings—including stadiums, retail spaces, office towers and convention centers—the need for a comprehensive set of best practices was not only apparent, but urgently sought by the commercial real estate sector at large.

Answering this call, the GBAC (Global Biorisk Advisory Council) launched the cleaning industry’s first and only “outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation” program aimed at large facility operators. It quickly gained traction throughout the United States with facilities seeking a meaningful way to restore employee and customer confidence in the environment they provide.

The GBAC STAR™ facility accreditation program has garnered support from many recognizable organizations. GBAC STAR™ is an excellent program for all facility owners/operators who are interested in being positioned as leaders in their particular industry market from a health and safety and competitive advantage perspective.

GBAC STAR is a performance-based accreditation program that helps facilities demonstrate that they have the work practices, procedures and protocols to prepare, respond and recover from outbreaks and pandemics.

Western Paper’s professional sales team can put customers in contact with GBAC Advisory Experts to develop a practical and manageable plan that will advise customers on best practices and help them to identify gaps in their cleaning protocols, disinfection techniques, and work practices to combat biohazards and infectious disease as they prepare for GBAC STAR accreditation.

ISSA/GBAC identified 20 program elements that a facility will need to address as part of their accreditation requirements.

Now is the time to be vigilant at making sure your facility is safe and your guests are comfortable and confident in your cleaning.
